And listening only my heart, here I am going through Switzerland, so much memories, to reach Milano and make a small stop on the seaside of the Ravenna Marina.
The next day, road towards Brindisi, the more in the south point of Italy to take the Ferry which will bring me directly to Greece in the town of Patras, not far from Athens. 2 days to go down, and already Greece open me its doors…

DIRECTION SOUTH !
Looking for the sun…

My family had recently been in Greece and the photos had dazzled me, it looked like an image of "Knights of the Zodiac" ! But you know me and you know that I will not take plane so let's go for a new adventure which take me this time in Greece for sure but also in the far south borders, along the incredible

roads, crossing Bulgaria, for finally arrive at the Turkey borders for visiting… Istanbul !

A wonderful adventure was offerd to me and seems to become something very great....

Greece, an old dream of child who has been realized, at the conquest of the knights of the Zodiac of the Legend...
When I first arrived in Patras, I went towards Corinthe to visit the ruins, then towards Epidaure to see the largest Theatre of the world.
Going around of universally known "Canal of Corinth", I continued my discovery towards Athens, with Acropolis, a so unique place, then taked the chair-lift to go and visit the heights…
Athens is in front of it is with the greetings of Greek guards which I go from adventures to adventures in this marvellous country, where to be caught by the police means that we remove you.... your registration plate !! What a madness! More, while speaking about madnesses, a small special collection of funny Greece awaits you at the end of this adventure!!!

Greece

Greece, an old dream of child who has been realized, at the conquest of the knights of the Zodiac of the Legend... When I first arrived in Patras, I went towards Corinthe to visit the ruins, then towards Epidaure to see the largest Theatre of the world. Sofia, Bulgaria.
Even if I was a little afraid at the beginning where I was at the border of the country, between the rather strange exchange and the funny people were walking around there, I was surprised by Bulgaria but more especially… by its poverty. Typical example: I was done arreted by police for prohibited parking (Why can't I park myself there in front of the green posts ?), and I had to pay the more expansive bill (van moving, police force, and so on…) that means....… 20 euros… ! I think you understood. Sofia astonished me by the kindness of the people that I met, by its really curious markets hall, and its amazing architecture. A country of East, right, but which however seems to mix within the Turkish culture not far from there, that I would not be long to go and discovering….

Bulgaria

Istanbul, Turkey.
Even while writing here, I still do not manage to believe in it ! I reached Turkey with the car, a mad trip !.
I believe that what made me go so far is this image that of Istanbul I had seen in the Indiana Jones movies, I had to go and see by myself !!
Istanbul is an incredible city with its blue mosques, its tumultuous streets full of people! But it is also this large bazaar where we can buy everything we want in the "souks" maze or this incredible Turkish kindness, where someone shows me the way, then gave me a handy number, or even kept my car a whole day, an incredible city, a incredible country....
And I do not even speak about the prayer hour which surprised me when thousand people put at knees on the ground to pray !!

Girokastra, Albania.
At the beginning, just something fun "And why not going through there ?".
So that's without thinking that I move towards the Albane border, where I didn't have time to reach the capital but only the first medieval city, Girokastra, small town in the south of Albania. This country is still very poor and the low level safety appeared to me as a danger.
So I stay there just one day to contemplate
the castle and the neighbourhoods, it was necessary
to go…. and here I am !

Sofia, Bulgaria.

Bonus : Croatia
Plitvice Waterfalls

If it was necessary to resume the places you must absolutely see in is life, the Plitvice water falls (Croatia) would be sure part of it. This was when coming back from Italy that I have the idea because of time gained by the Ferry, to change my way and go there to visit them. These water falls are imposing, with more ten lakes which are splendid, linked by cascades, the highest makes nearly 80 Meters (87 yards). A unique place, an incredible place, to see absolutely!!!

Funny trips !

Some small fun videos taken during my return way of Greece towards the Ferry which left towards Italy and gave me idea to make a small fast collection of funny trips. You will find here the tortuous ways of the mountains and a small combat of rather alarming goats I must say, which should close in beauty this adventure "Direction South" !
