Peru! I never even thought to go there, here is for me the time to leave in the less prepared adventure of my life. In a few weeks, I make my vaccines, learns some spanish  words and let's go t! Direction Luxembourg Train Station, Brussels Train Station, Eurostar towards London, then plane London-Miami and finally Miami-Lima. Peru open us his doors and promises me to change all my convictions…

Lima, capital and Peru's entry door.
This city seems to have so much different faces ! Sometimes tumultuous when I fell on an huge religious procession, sometimes quiet in middle of the night in the districts, sometimes rich with his monuments, cathedrals and weapons places, sometimes poor in its most poor districts and out from the city…
Lima has even its Chinatown and I could discover during my last night in a taxi trip that this city is much bigger than we could at first sight believe...

The Balestas islands and its very famous "Candelabre" (candlestick) drawn on the sand dunes we see from the boat. This excursion showed us a wild aspect of Peru so much sea and air animals fauna is impressive there.
And in the middle of all this ecosystem only one man alone on his bridge say hello to tourists in our very small boat.Look at the photos, they feel to smell big wide, sea, and...the balestas islands...

Paracas Reserve.
Probably the most beautiful landscapes of this adventure.
An immense sand reserve, dunes, rocks, surrounded by an ocean which seems to extend to the infinite horizon. The wind is breathing and raises the birds which live on the coasts border. We hear the noise of waves which come to die on the rocks ten meters below of us.
Here, time seems to be stopped, and old vestiges prove us that there was life a long time ago. From Boat failed to planted cross in sand, there is just one step, this is imagination… Paracas has also even been used in a very old movie you should know, called "planet of the apes"...

Paracas Reserve.
Probably the most beautiful landscapes of this adventure.
An immense sand reserve, dunes, rocks, surrounded by an ocean which seems to extend to the infinite horizon. The wind is breathing and raises the birds which live on the coasts border. We hear the noise of waves which come to die on the rocks ten meters below of us.

Huacachina: A natural "Oasis" in the middle of desert!!! Even if we were lost in the desert we never believed taht we could one day be able to see such a miracle. Now I can understand better what one man can feel after some steps in this so huge desert and how he can be lost so quickly, because absolutely nothing to know where you are, except the natural beauty of the sand. Don't forget the sands surfing (so 2 photobooks) which was really an incredible experience. I love Huacachina because this place makes me dream…

Nazca. What can I say? so much things.
Universally known for the Nazca lines, this city is a place for tourists and the flights in cesna plane never stop. But the show is wonderful and it is a pure happiness to see these lines and imagine that maybe one day we could be able to find their real origin.
A condor, a monkey, a man, the mystery remain full we leaved from Nazca with heavy heart because we can't be able to discother all of them. Concerning video, be careful not to have the illness of flight ! Then you will discover a small visit in a cemetery not far but I prefered not to make here the photos for the fragile hearts :-)

After a terrible nightwalk we arrived at our modest (even very modest) hotel. But this did not discourage our adventurers who proudly threw themselves into water in the first rays of sun. Then, we visited a small market and finished at the restaurant in a noisy environment because of our "ping pong" game!
Chala, the beach of the holidays, without any tourists… :-)

Arequipa

Arequipa surprised all of us by the beauty of the weapons place on very early morning. We have also been surprised by the wonderful Santa Catalina monastery, place in which "Silencio" reign as a Master, in the middle of the beauty of the blue or red walls which seems to inspire peace and harmony, devotion, a monastery like no other ! Arequipa was also the way for us to discover the chiravaya museum and to learn a many interesting things. Arequipa is a city always moving which remember us good memories forever…

The Colca canyon. We woke up at 3 o'clock in the morning to see this place !!
Early maybe but, for the first canyon I visit in my life I was not disappointed to take part in this adventure! When suddenly, Not far for the stone, what did I see? Condors moving and flying in a majestic way. Such the condor of the "mysterious gold cities", they turn around us looking us with their great air dance.
The sun rises on the canyon of Colca, and the condors welcome us…

Chucuito. Not far from Puno, chucuito is well known for the phallus temple and its pisciculture. Many girls of our group, (all in fact) have tried to climb these giant phallus stones known as fertile when we sit on it ! What a show !
One good moment of relaxation, probably the more funny in this travel which brings back photos and movies so incredible for us which show young girls trying to climb over phallus stones ! Who would believe this ?

Chucuito. Not far from Puno, chucuito is well known for the phallus temple and its pisciculture. Many girls of our group, (all in fact) have tried to climb these giant phallus stones known as fertile when we sit on it ! What a show !
One good moment of relaxation, probably the more funny in this travel which brings back photos and movies so incredible for us which show young girls trying to climb over phallus stones ! Who would believe this ?

Amantani : The island which has changed my life. If you think that it is to much to say, it's that because I really enjoyed this very good moment in this island. Great walk to the top of the mountain or I make all my best to arrive, and by night, we have learnd to amantani people our french dance "la chenille" with the sound of panpipes. With this they discovered what was "making party" for us !. Wonderful island, incredible way of family life, love and happiness, without forget small English girls… sigh….

Taquile: Another island not far from Amantani. Taquile surprised me by the height of the mountain and the village which was at the top, but also by the few hundreds of steps to go down !
I will always remember this Peruvian little girl who was so happy when I bought all the bracelets she was selling. She left so fast to buy something to eat with this money. Poor for sure, but not unhappy…
Peru continues surprising me.

Titicaca Lake : probably the biggest lake I could see in my life. Water  border between Peru and Bolivia.
But especially the first Lake in my life where I met people who were living on it !! On their straws islands, there are houses, schools and boats so beautiful.
This was on this island that I had my first "regalo" ("gift" in spain language) in other words a gift from a Peruvian people in the tourist island.
The legend tells about a time, or there was a mountain with gods. The human had not the right to climb this montain. But they tried. The Gods in punishment sent to the human 100 pumas to eat them, then cried so much, and their tears created the Titicaca Lake…

Aquas Calientes: start and arrival point of Maccu Piccu, a tourist platform for all people wishing to go to visit the old Incas ruins, almost a bridgeto go there.

The train which leads to Aquas Calientes is very known and even fashion shows are organized in ! Aquas Calientes or "Hot springs" is a city full of surprises and when we first arrive, we feel to be already on the maccu piccu.

With a departure at 4:00 of the morning in middle of the night, after saved my sister from a deadly fall, we were at the top of the largest Maya and Inca capital ever preserved in the world, called Maccu Piccu. 8th wonder of the world, Maccu Piccu opened us its doors and that's why you will have 10 min video ! have fun !
I would like to say hello here to Carmen, the unforgettable girl I saved in the mountain, she was so wonderful and I hope
to see her again one day...

Lima: And finally, we arrive at the end of our travel.
After another flight from Cuzco to Lima, which kept all its splendour and the beauty of its marvellous architecture.
We visited a museum then we decided to make all our own free way so that everybody can live his last days as he wants. I spend my day visting and my night celebrating and I didn't sleep.
When the taxi came to take us to the airport, we said good bye to Lima. We are flying over Peru, direction New York, London and the house….                   The End
